Search Your Courses ( SYC ) PRODUCT RETURN PROCESS FOR SELLER

Objective : This process has been defined to help the registered sellers on Search Your Courses ( SYC )to understand, plan and execute the sold product refund process smoothly and seamlessly for each of their listed products and thereby ensure the best experience for themselves and the buyers on SYC.

  • What is a sold product ?

    • A sold product is a product that has been listed by the respective seller and later bought by a buyer by paying the listed price using the Search Your Courses (SYC)payment gateway.

    Why should a sold product be returned ?

    • A sold product can be returned in various situations, like damaged goods or buyers unhappy with the product ( expectation v/s received ) or support etc.
  • How can the seller protect themselves from wrong return claims ?

    • The seller has the liberty of setting the sold product return process/policy while listing the product. All sellers on Search Your Courses ( SYC ) are advised to carefully fill up the return policy while listing each of their products.

Prerequisites :

1. Seller should be registered with username and password as Seller and not as customer.

Process :

  • After login the dashboard screen will look like below

  • Go to left side of screen and Click on “ New Product “
  • A new subtitle will appear “ Add New Product “
  • Click on Add New Product. This is the function to start adding a new product to the seller portfolio.
  • Click on Add New Product will take you to below screen “ Select Category “
  • Start by Clicking on the Product Type Bar. It will give you a drop down list of types of products. This is to help a seller to define the correct/specific type of product the seller intends to sell on the SYC. Each of the elements in drop-down list are explained as below
  • Simple Product - All Tangible products which require physical delivery by courier to customer location. Ipads, Kits, Pens etc are some examples.
  • Virtual Product - All intangible products that can be delivered to customers digitally and does not require any courier service belong to this category. Such products provide access to customers using username, password, QR codes, passcodes etc
  • Configurable Product - Not a relevant category and can be Ignored
  • Downloadable Product - All products which have 100% downloadable content for the customer.
  • Grouped Product - All products that are a mix of tangible and Intangible products. Grouped products are a combination of tangible/intangible products listed together by the Seller on SYC, each of which are independent or combined with other products.
  • Bundle Product - Bundle products should be used when a customer can build his own product bundle from products listed on SYC.
  • Once the Product Type is selected, Move down and Click on Courses in Select Category. Select one of the many categories listed there. In case your expected category is not to be found, Seller has to contact Search Your Courses ( SYC )admin. After selecting an appropriate Category, Click on Continue.
  • Click on “Other Details” on same page

  • Do you have a return policy ? ( Mandatory Field ) : If the product/course/training/content has a return policy, please select “ YES “. By default value is “ NO “.
  • Terms of return policy : If “ YES “ above, mention the return policy terms, validity etc in detail with micro level understanding of the Return Policy for this particular product.
  • Simple Product - If the product is listed as a Simple Product, being a tangible product, it is advisable to define a return policy with clarity on mode of return, return policy period validity, how the buyer can claim return and conditions for eligibility to return etc.
  • Virtual Product - If the product is listed as a Vrtual Product, being a tangible product, it is advisable not to provide a return policy. However, defining a return policy would be helpful to promote the products better and would have more trust among the buyers.
  • Configurable Product - Not a relevant category and can be Ignored
  • Downloadable Product - If the product is listed as a Downloadable Product, being a tangible product, it is advisable not to provide a return policy. However, defining a return policy would be helpful to promote the products better and would have more trust among the buyers.
  • Grouped Product - Since Grouped products are a combination of tangible/intangible products listed together by the Seller on SYC, each of which are independent or combined with other products, it is advisable to have a clear return policy bifurcating separately for tangible and intangible products. The return policy should provide clarity on mode of return, return policy period validity, how the buyer can claim return and conditions for eligibility to return etc.
  • Bundle Product - Bundle products should be used when a customer can build his own product bundle from products listed on SYC. In light of this, the return policy for each of the products in the bundle bought by the buyer would be subject to the return policy defined by the seller for each of the products in the bundle.
  • Delivery Time required :Applicable for both Digital and Tangible products. Explain each in detail so as to help the buyer with micro level understanding of the delivery time. This is a very important definition, as the return policy or process or buyer satisfaction are heavily governed by the delivery time of the product.

Now your product return process is complete. Once you complete the entire product listing on SYC, the Search Your Courses ( SYC ) Admin will be shortly approving your listing after due-diligence. Kindly ensure that the listing is conforming to the terms and conditions required by the marketplace. Product would “ Go Live “ once the Search Your Courses ( SYC ) Admin Approval is completed.
